8-5-17 Update: Rewired former nitrous relays to take advantage of ECU's 4 boost maps.  (Each gear has it's own 3d boost map based upon rpm and intake air temperature)...

7-14-17 Update: Finally got back on the dyno after freshening the engine.  New piston rings, reground the valves and seats, new valve springs, new exhaust guides, resurfaced the heads (Compression is now about 8.5:1) and new Ron Lummus Black Magic clutch disc with the flywheel and pressure plate resurfaced.  At 18 psi it made 450 hp and 350 torque...

9-24-16 Update: Finally went to the track with it.  I took just one shake down pass and found out that I need to replace/upgrade the clutch in it!  Spun almost the entire quarter mile and still managed a 10.35 @ 128mph.  Look for some crazy fast times next year! :)

9-23-16 Update: Got back on the dyno today and slowly bumped it up to about 20psi and made 463 hp. torque was over 350, but can't recall for sure how much, but it was for sure over 300 from 4,500 to past 7,000. Going to the track tomorrow to see how it does and to learn how to drive a turbo car!  :)

9-18-16 Update: Did some very mild initial pulls on the dyno today. Staying at only 6 psi of boost, I made just under 288 hp. I will get the boost control solenoids on and wired up this week, back on the dyno Friday and start cranking the boost up. I'm only shooting for around 425 to 450 hp at this point, which should be plenty to get it back into the 9's. Next year I will crank it up even more. Car sounded sweet and no problems.

 

9-17-16 Update: Finally wrapped the headers with the DEI Titanium Exhaust Wrap! (In these pics, I forgot to put the turbo blanket back on.)...

 

9-11-16 Update: Finished mounting and plumbing the ice water tank.  Plumbing is routed thru the heater channels to the rear mounted intercooler...

 

9-3-16 Update: Made a little vacuum log for all four cylinders to feed to.  It will supply a signal to the MAP sensor, fuel pressure regulator and blow off valve.  There is also room for attaching to a dyno's MAP sensor and possibly a future on board boost gauge.  It's a little over kill and since I didn't know exactly where I could fit it, I made the mount multi position adjustable...

 

8-31-16 Update: Finished mocking up muffler and tailpipe.  Hopefully tomorrow we will get the O2 sensors mounted and finish welding...

 

8-30-16 Update: Finished adapter to put the 4" exhaust on it!  I also did a little work on the turbine housing...

 

8-27-16 Update: It's running!  (Note: The down pipe, post turbo exhaust, is temporary and will be replaced in a few days...

7-3-16 Update: Finally started on the turbo conversion!  I started mocking stuff up and fabricating some of the parts needed...

 

Below to the left are the intake adapters that will attach to the tops of the throttle bodies.  They are made of 1/2" aluminum.  In the center is the oil drain/turbo support. And on the right are the exhaust flanges, made of 1/2" steel.

 

Some of the turbo stuff.  Turbo blanket, blow off valve, fuel pressure regulator, one of the waste gates, turbo and air filter, mandrel bent 1 3/4" exhaust tubing, and flanges...

 

IF all goes well, the project will be completed and dyno tuned by the end of August!  After that, I hope to make it out to the track at least a couple of times.
