Drag Race Results 6-30-2012
First time out for a regular Saturday program. I set up the nitrous to come on a bit sooner than last time out. Also, we were battling numerous rain delays as mother nature was playing havoc with us so we were limited to two time trial runs.
First Pass - Kept all of the previous settings from my last pass (10.123 @ 132.27mph) seven weeks ago as is, except had it turn on the first stage 50 rpms sooner (5,200 rpms) and then switch to the second stage 200 rpms sooner (5,300 rpms). The day was quite a bit warmer so the air wasn't nearly as good as last time out. (My disclaimer!)
It ran 10.154 @ 130.87mph with the 1/8 mile times being 6.392 @ 106.35mph. Sixty foot time was 1.420.
Second Pass - In an attempt to run a 9.99 second pass (or lower) I lowered the first stage hit another 200 rpms (5,000 rpms) and then switch to the second stage 200 rpms sooner also (5,100 rpms) and also raised the nitrous shut off 50 rpms (7,300) I also lowered my launch to 4,800rpms. So close!.....
It ran 10.028 @ 133.72mph with the 1/8 mile times being 6.377 @ 106.95mph. Sixty foot time was 1.443.
Third Pass - In one more attempt to run a 9.99 second pass (or lower) I raised the nitrous shut off another 500rpms (7,800rpms). Since this was first round of eliminations, I dialed a hopeful 9.90....
It ran 10.228 @ 130.37mph with the 1/8 mile times being 6.472 @ 105.79mph. Sixty foot time was 1.439.
Not quite sure what happened on that run unless it was that it got pretty squirrelly in second gear that might of ate up some time or that I actually slowed down by running it up higher in each gear or the fact that I accidentally left the bottle heater on too long that might have zapped the battery a bit and I also had to purge a fair amount out of the bottle to get back to the pressure I normally run. I will give everything a thorough look over before I run it again next time... hopefully in two weeks!
Also, since I have not tried to cut a light in a while, I tried this time. All three were red lights! ...however, I got closer to a good light each time. Maybe next time I will figure it out again! Here are the three lights that I cut (in order)...
-.062, -.043, & -.026 ...at least I am slowly heading the right direction!
