Engine Freshened for 2012

After many dyno runs and only a few track runs, I decided to freshen the engine and install the cam sensor.  (Click here to see more on the cam sensor installation!)

The only changes were as follows... Rods rebuilt with new pin bushings, Jaycee high performance rod bearings, fresh rings gapped for nitrous, cam sensor and changed to resistor spark plugs.

Assembling bottom end (80mm Waterboxer crank, FK-10 cam, Eagle 5.88 rods with Carrillo bolts, enlarged sump)...

101.6mm bore, rings are 1/16"-1/16"-3/16".  Top rings gapped to .028" & second rings gapped to .032".  Six stud conversion and heavy wall cylinders...

Long block finished (Engine will be getting new set of heads soon!)...

Vintage pressure plate from 1985!...

1.6:1 ratio Pauter rockers and Manton pushrods installed after cranking for oil pressure.  Without rockers OP was 20psi, with rockers OP was 50psi cranking (10W-30 Valvoline Racing)...

Engine back in car (Alternator installation will be soon.)...

Cam sensor installation complete, except for wiring and tuning...

Glass pack muffler (Dynomax 24215)...
